BERGEN - Sightseeing Highlights

Bryggen
Bryggen's Museum is a cultural history museum based on the findings of the archaeological excavations of Bryggen, between 1955 and 1972, showing the foundations of the city's oldest buildings on their original site from the 12 th Century.

Hanseatic Museum at Bryggen is one of the best preserved wooden buildings in Bergen, furnished in the style of the 1700s to give an intimate picture of the life of a Hanseatic merchant.

To wander through Bryggen's narrow alleyways, made even darker and more mysterious by overhanging balconies, is to step back in time to a bygone era. Bryggen is not a museum however, but part of the cultural heritage that is still in use in a living historical area of the city.

Meeting Point Bryggen is the starting point for your visit to all of Bryggen's attractions, and it here that you can pick up a brochure that guide's you to the many attractions.

Fløibanen Funicular is a 7 minute ride to the top of Mount Fløyen, one of seven mountains that surround Bergen. It runs every 15 minutes and you will get magnificent view of Bergen and the suburbs. Ideal for mountain walks.
