to visit one of Europe’s
most beautiful cities by direct
flight from Edinburgh Airport.
Built on 14 islands Stockholm is a city like no other.
Thanks to its compact size you can see all its wonderful
attractions in a relatively short space of time. Here you
will discover a city that is one third water; one third
green and one third building! A good starting point for
exploration is its wonderfully preserved Old Town (Gamla
Stan). Perhaps the best way to see the city is from the
water as regular boat trips operate throughout the summer.
There are over one hundred museums to choose from. Perhaps
the most spectacular is the famous Vasa Museum which houses
the royal warship Vasa that sank in Stockholm Harbour on
her maiden voyage in 1628. In the evening the choice of
bars and clubs is rich and varied. Stockholm boasts a huge
variety of restaurants both Swedish and international.
The famous Swedish buffet ‘smorgasbord’ is
often a very cost effective method of dining.

There is an excellent express
train service from the airport to Stockholm
Central Station. The journey time is 20 minutes
and it operates every 15 minutes (every 10
minutes at peak times). A return ticket is
approximately £23 (senior citizens £13). |
