What happens next

Once you have agreed the quotation for your luggage the items will be collected from your home address & delivered to the cruise ship for your departure date and then once you have completed your cruise will be returned to your home address to meet you on your return.

The company will collect baggage from your home address on an agreed date approximately 3-4 days prior to your departure. All luggage on collection should be secured with our secure luggage tags, provided with your confirmation letter. Your baggage will then be taken to our 24 hour secure storage unit until the date of your cruise when it will then be delivered directly to your ship on the day of departure. The secure collection service is then repeated until your luggage is returned back to you. Collection and return of baggage UK wide is £36 inc VAT per item, each way (not exceeding 25kg) baggage returned within 3 to 4 days of return to Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, or Avonmouth, and for fly-cruise, £60 per item plus VAT, to Barcelona, Genoa, and Venice. Q&A from the Baggage Handling Company

Q1) How long before my departure date should I book my luggage to be collected?

We would prefer to have 30 days’ notice of bookings before departure dates. We will take bookings of less days but require you to call to check availability if less than 14 days before departure.

Q2) What do I need to do to prepare for my luggage collection?

All you need to do is ensure all luggage labels issued by your cruise line have been attached to all items we are collecting. Our driver will add the security labels with your unique serial number on collection.

Q3) How does my return collection at the docks work?

You will need to clear customs with your luggage, then a luggage representative will be in arrivals to meet you with a clearly marked board. Our representatives will be present in arrivals from 8am.

Q4) Will I be given a collection date & time when I book?

The company will provide you with a date & AM or PM time slot for collection at the time of booking. If not, the latest we will provide you with this information will be 7 days before departure date. (Please note on some occasions, collections for Scotland may be arranged slightly outside of 3/4 days before departure if we have further collections/deliveries for that particular time)

Q5) Do you deal with unaccompanied luggage for world and sector cruising?

Your luggage will be collected in the usual way from your home address and delivered to the ship on the agreed date with the shipping line for unaccompanied luggage. If required, the company can also collect unaccompanied luggage on the ships return to UK port. This collection would take place after the luggage has been released by customs, usually 1/2 days after the ships arrival in port.

Q6) Will my luggage be secure?

Your luggage security is paramount. That is why we go that extra mile to make sure all measures are taken to provide you with 100% satisfaction when handling your baggage. All baggage will be security sealed on collection from your home. You will then be given your very own unique reference number assigned to your baggage. Your baggage is insured up to £250 per bag. (additional cover is available).
