Highlights:
- A bank holiday break of traditional Dutch experiences
- In Amsterdam, see the Keukenhof tulips in bloom
- Sail the peaceful Nieuwe Maas
Including the Beautiful Keukenhof Botanical Gardens
This short taster cruise has been planned to coincide with a bank holiday and for when the tulips are in bloom, a seasonal event that’s synonymous with the Netherlands. What’s more, there will be two overnight stays in destinations that offer traditional Dutch experiences.
In Amsterdam, there’s a chance to meet a tulip grower at a local farm before heading to see the colourful tulips in bloom at Keukenhof Gardens. Alternatively, you can capture the sights of the capital on a boat tour of the famous canals.
Experience an explosion of colour from over seven million varieties of tulips and flowers at the Keukenhof Tulip Festival, the largest flower garden in the world. Translating to ‘kitchen garden’, Keukenhof was originally a small noble’s salad garden and now boasts 80 acres of themed gardens complete with paved footpaths that traverse lawns, streams, lakes and pavilions featuring various exhibitions. The perfect opportunity to admire spring in all its glory!
Rotterdam is the gateway to the Netherland’s iconic windmills. Borealis will transit the Nieuwe Maas river, the North Sea Canal and through Amsterdam’s canal lock.
