Our team of journey planners have created an itinerary that’ll offer chances to venture off the beaten track in Central American and Caribbean destinations, to encounter a wealth of wildlife – from marine life to native jungle fauna and flora – in their natural environment. Braemar takes you to Belize, where you could opt to embark on a jungle walk or guided boat tour of scenic Belize River, in search of iguanas, crocodiles, manatees and even toucans – the national bird. There are over 120 species of birds to look out for amongst the jungle interiors of Roatan Island, as well as 40 reptile species, while the surrounding waters are teeming with coral reefs and tropical fish. In Costa Rica, rainforests alive with a variety of animal and exotic plant life await on tour from Puerto Limón; spot sloths clinging to trees, monkeys swinging between them and hear birdcalls echoing through the jungle scape. Meanwhile, the waters lapping the shores of Guadeloupe and Dominica are renowned whale watching spots that you can discover on a boat tour from Basse-Terre.

In addition to the wild experiences available to you, this memorable journey includes opportunities to sample the history and culture of fascinating cities too. An undoubted highlight is two days in Havana, ample time to capture the very essence of Cuba. You could spend a day taking in Havana’s monuments and landmarks via a classic American car; sip daiquiri and mojito in the city where these delicious tipples were first invented; and even enjoy an evening at the Tropicana. Whatever you choose to do, you’re sure to be left captivated by the Cuban capital. You also get to revel in the sight of colourful architecture and feel the welcoming atmosphere of Dutch-influenced Oranjestad in Aruba, while you could also opt to explore Belize City for historic sites such as St John’s Cathedral, the oldest Anglican Church in Central America.
